Raksila roofs

Raksila is a well-known part of the town even elsewhere thanks to Paavo Rintala's novel called Pojat ("Boys"). This is the part of Raksila that the book is about, and this is the Karjakatu where the book begins and where Rintala was living in the 1940's - quite as I was. There was a housing shortage in post-war Oulu. Raksila was built to alleviate the problem. It also functioned as a target for investments by the wealthy part of the population.
