I had taken with me twenty sheets of hand-made Nepali paper and a set of Conté crayons, when I had promised to keep watch over a house in western Uusimaa, while the others went to Rhodes for a holiday. I decided that I would drive every day to some place worth drawing, no matter what kind of place it was. The immemorial stone church seemed to become such a place. What is it in old things that really interests us (me)?
