I drove round Hankoniemi in the morning. I did not stay there long, except for watching the sea and the sea of masts in the eastern harbour. I returned by the way of the Täktom road, dropping by in the Veterans Museum on my way home. I made my way to the Karjaa church. I drew the churchyard on the side of the sacristy. Although these old churches are said to be grey stone ones, they are not grey by any means. When one does not read the newspapers and all that television can offer is soccer world championships, one can concentrate on whatever is at hand.
