I drove to the other edge of western Uusimaa, via Espoo to Vitträsk. I wandered about in the beautiful landscape, finally finding what I had been looking for. After all the old churches, Vitträsk seemed like a national romantic misunderstanding. I returned to Karjaa by way of Inkoo.

10.40 p.m.
As it was a beautiful evening and I was not tired, I drove to Raasepori. I had the drawing set under my arm and when it became silent on the castle yard, I stayed there to make another drawing. A peculiar feeling seizes me in a place like this. Suddenly, a breath of wind wafts to the yard, I hear strange noises and sounds of birds. The grey yard starts to live, it becomes colourful. Although the flow of time has washed almost everything out, the feeling of a life that has been lived is still strong.
