2001 Transparency, 55x46 cm, acrylics

Transparency is beatiful. It is something eternal. In the end, what is brittle lasts longest. It is proved by the ceramic things from thousands of years ago that have been excavated from earth. A painting that has been properly painted on canvas is also amazingly long-lasting. It seems to be typical of man that he wants to leave behind something permanent, and preferably good. But what is good for one person can be a bad thing to someone else. There does not seem to such a thing as "common good", and that's what we have to content ourselves with. I guess the most important thing would be to cope somehow in everyday life. The memory of a peaceful era in the country is worth reminiscing. And there are always those who do remember it.
