Rosuvoin kulpilla, minä keskellä

Over the centuries Vyborg had needed a huge number of tiles for fortifications under and on the ground. The clay excavations were known as the pools of Rosuvoi, but each one of them also had a name of its own: the Bright Pool, the Spring Pool, the Crosshill Pool, the Sauna Pool, the Clay Pool, the Swimming Pool... some of them were used for swimming, while others were used for angling for crucians carps, and some were well liked by duck. In the autumn children would splash in the culps, and in the winter they would skate. By the Winter War most of these pools had been filled and levelled.
