Equipment Available in the Library

Computers are available in the central library and all branch libraries. The computers are intended for information search in the library database, Internet surfing, and use of utility programmes. The computers runs on Citrix environment. You can save your files either on a usb memory stick or on some computers also onto diskettes. You can book a computer on the Internet or in the library in person.

Printing is also possible, the fee is 20 cents/side for black and white prints and 50 cents/side for color prints.

Cassette players are available in the central library children and young people’s department and music department as well as in Kaijonharju, Karjasilta, Koskela, and Maikkula libraries.

CD players are available in the central library in music department and in children and young people’s department: they are available also in Kaijonharju, Karjasilta, Koskela and Myllyoja branch libraries.

DVD player is available in the music studio in the central library.

eBook readers are for loan at the information services desk of the main library.

Laptops are available in the central library at reading room and childrens and young people's department and Karjasilta, Kaukovainio, Rajakylä and Tuira libraries. Librarycard is required when booking and collecting laptops. Library laptops are not available after 7.30 pm on weekdays, 4.30 pm on Saturdays, and 3.30 pm on Sundays.

A microfilm and microfiche reader is available in the central library reading room. The reader is equipped with a printer.

A microfilm scanner is available in the central library reading room.

A photocopying machine is available in the central library magazine and newspaper room as well as the reading room, and also in every branch library.

A record player is available in the central library music studio and in Karjasilta library.

A return machine locates on the 2nd floor in the central library and Kaakkuri, Kaijonharju, Myllyoja, Rajakylä and Ritaharju branch libraries.

A scanner is available in the central library magazine and newspapers room.

Self-issuing machines are available on the 2nd and 3rd floors in the central library and also in Kaakkuri, Kaijonharju, Karjasilta, Maikkula, Myllyoja, Oulunsalo Pateniemi, Rajakylä and Ritaharju branch libraries.

TV is available in the central library magazine and newspaper room.

VHS video recorder is on the central library music department.

A Video game console is available in the central library music department. You can play Playstation 3 -video games.
