Vision 2015

In 2015 Oulu City Library is accessible, welcoming and multi-cultural, acting as a part of the international library net. The collections are diverse and innovative. Services and development work of the library represent top quality of the branch. The services of the library are proactive and various customer groups are taken into account. Ecological issues are of great importance.

The library is a desired partner and a tempting place to work in, and which the staff appreciates.

Mission statement

Oulu City Library serves as a centre for culture, knowledge and civilization, being open for everyone.

Library facilities are accessible, welcoming and suitable for social activities. Collections and services are to support equal rights for people of all ages, and to enable lifelong learning and recreation.

The special assignment of the library is to promote the culture of Northern Ostrobothnia.
