Obtaining Library Card

You can get a library card by presenting proof of identity. Under 15-year-olds need a written consent signed by their guardian. With the library card you can borrow materials from all Oulu City libraries.

In Oulu City library, by presenting proof of identity you can activate your Oulu University of Applied Sciences, Oulu University and Outi Library card.

PIN Code

To view your account and make reservations on a computer provided for customers or on the Internet, you will need your customer ID code on the library card and the PIN code. You can get the PIN code only in person in the library, not by phone or e-mail.

Responsible Card Holder

Your library card is personal. You are responsible for the card and any material borrowed with it as well as the use of your customer ID and the PIN code combination.

Card Cancellation

If you lose your library card, contact all the libraries where you have used it without delay. Once you have notified the libraries either in person or by phone, your card will be cancelled. You can replace it for 2 euros by providing proof of identity.

Changing Customer Information

You have to notify all the libraries where you have used your library card of change of address or name. The library can be notified of a change of address by e-mail or phone but you have to visit the library in person to change your name details. You can also change your contact details in INTRO provided you have collected your password in person in the library.
