Did you know that in Oulu you can surf the internet wirelessly and free of charge, for instance in the city centre and at Raksila sports centre, at libraries, community centre and even on buses?

Surfing is easy with the panOULU network. You can use a wireless network wherever you want to!

It is as easy as this

1. Go to an area covered by the panOULU network
2. Activate the WLAN card in your device
3. Activate automatic network search
4. Make sure that network name (SSID) is panOULU
5. Go online

Use wherever you want to

• At Rotuaari and the marketplace
• At libraries
• At community houses
• At youth centres
• At the service centres of the City of Oulu
• Castrenin kentällä
• At the ice stadium, swimming hall and Finnish baseball stadium at Raksila

What kind of equipment do you need?

panOULU network is an excellent tool whenever you are unable use a fixed network for example at home or at work. All you need is a wireless-enabled client device, such as a laptop computer, mobile phone or an internet tablet.

If your laptop computer does not have an integrated WLAN network adapter, you can buy from a computer hardware store a separate adapter which can be connected to your computer via an USB or PCMCIA port.

Remember to update your antivirus programmes

The panOULU network offers an unprotected wireless connection. Please make sure your client device has a functioning antivirus programme and that the firewall as well as the security updates of the software are up to date.

If you do not have an internet-based e-mail, you can send messages through an e-mail server at smtp.panoulu.net. Receiving messages is not enabled, however.
